Utility of agentic NFTs

Utility here means a job the token can do. It does not mean a price will rise. These jobs come from the standards, not from one meme coin.

Prove who the agent is

A buyer, a shop, or another agent can read the owner and the registration file from the chain. No company has to keep the only copy of the ID.

Sell the role, not just the art

If the identity is the NFT, the buyer gets the right to update endpoints and to be treated as the agent’s owner.

Carry reputation

ERC-8004 lets other addresses leave feedback on the agent id. That history can stay with the token after a sale. A buyer should still read it. Old scores can be gamed.

Hold its own things

With ERC-6551, the NFT can have a wallet. Items, coins, or permissions can sit there and move when the NFT moves.

Publish a soul

ERC-8048 lets a contract store a markdown soul and endpoints. Any app can read them in one call. That is how a pet voice can be shared without a private server.

Move private files with a proof

ERC-7857 is for model weights, memory, and character files that should not be public. Transfer is valid only if the proof says the new owner can decrypt them.

Get paid for work

The agent card can name a payment address. ERC-8183 sketches escrow for a job. Neither pays you by itself. Someone still has to hire the agent.

Plug into tools you already use

A prompt file can be pasted into a ChatGPT project, a Claude project, or your own app. The NFT does not replace the AI vendor.

None of this is financial advice. A Draft standard can change. A prompt can be copied by someone who does not hold the NFT unless the app checks the owner onchain.
